Yesterday reading the Saturday Sydney Morning Herald, I came across Fiona Capp’s short review of “Strange Situation” by Bethany Saltman, which includes:
“I wish I could be just like you,” Bethan Saltman’s pre-school daughter said to her one day. The chuffed mother asked her why. The reply came like a blow: “Because then I could be angry all the time”.
Last night watching “Adult Life Skills” starring Jodie Whittaker, we see the eight year old character Clint, in cowboy garb, pay to Whittaker’s grieving character Anna, what she takes as a compliment – he wants to be like her. Then he declares what that is: “sad and angry all the time”.
Hello back at ya, Universe, you funny fellow.
