My latest publication, My Wonder Book of Snails and Slugs, is available for your free reading pleasure (?) in the new edition of Penumbric.
I think of it as a sometimes melancholy, sometimes sinister tale of love, loss and survival, and also of snails, a sea of slugs, a sea monster, bat faced cardigan monkeys (and a war against same), life-saving dogs that live within a snail mountain, a giant snail, a girl with no hands, a fairy ring composed of girls (plus Richard), drunken snails, more snails, a snake that is really an arm, and a giant spider god. When I put it like this, it sounds weird.
It started life as a very short piece, but I found I could not leave it alone, and it grew and grew. I really enjoyed writing it, but I was not sure people would enjoy reading it. I am grateful to Jeff Georgeson and his Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine for giving it a go and an audience.
I hope that you like My Wonder Book of Snails and Slugs.
